Gas Fuels

Gas Fuels

Gas fuel was the first type of fuel powering reciprocating engines and remains the main fuel used to energize stationary power solutions. Naturally gas fuels provide lower emissions level and use spark ignition or small portion of pilot liquid fuel for ignition.

Landfill & Bio Gas

Type of Fuel: Sustainable

Biogas comes from tiny organisms that break down waste like food scraps or animal poop in landfills and farms. Biogas mainly contains methane and CO2. Using biogas as fuel is good for the environment because methane, the main gas in biogas, is much worse for the planet than CO2. Burning biogas also means we don’t need to burn other fuels that pollute the air.

Hydrogen

Type of Fuel: Sustainable

Hydrogen is a green fuel because when we burn it, it only turns into water. To make hydrogen, we use electricity from carbon-free sources like the sun, wind, or nuclear power. Hydrogen is great for fuel, but it’s tricky because it doesn’t store a lot of energy, and moving or storing it takes a lot of effort and space. Therefore,  application of hydrogen is limited by stationary applications.

For mobile application we need to make one step further to convert hydrogen to methanol.

Flare Gas

Type of Fuel: Sustainable

Associated petroleum gas comes from oil wells and gas stations. It’s a mix of gases that can’t be moved easily through pipes because they turn into liquids. Often, this gas gets burned without being used, which is wasteful. But, if we burn it in our generating sets, it can be good for the environment because it stops waste and can replace other fuels.

Natural Gas

Type of Fuel: Conventional

Natural gas is a fossil fuel massively used for stationary power supply, heating. Liquified or compressed natural gas also used for mobile applications as alternative to diesel fuel. Natural gas is most clean of fossil fuels allowing to achieve lowest carbon effect and environment pollution in combination with low-cost service.
